Anne-Marie Casey
Anne-Marie Casey is a screenwriter, novelist and playwright. She was a successful producer in Film and TV in the UK before becoming a writer full time.
She has written numerous scripts for TV and Film in the UK and Ireland. Current projects include her original TV series idea Wild Irish Girl, set in 1951 in Cong, Mayo, during the filming of ‘The Quiet Man’, for Fields Entertainment, LA, and her original feature film, The Two Shockers, for Screen Ireland and Blue Ink Productions about the extraordinary female writing partnership of Somerville & Ross.
Her first novel, An Englishwoman in New York, was bought and edited by Amy Einhorn for Putnam/Penguin in the US, and, along with her second novel, The Real Liddy James, was also published by Hodder in the UK.
An Englishwoman in New York was a Kirkus Reviews best book of the year in the US, and a YOU magazine book club pick in the UK.
Her stage adaptations of Little Women and Wuthering Heights enjoyed sell-out runs at the Gate Theatre, Dublin. Her new version of Little Women, co-produced by the Watford Palace Theatre (Director Brigid Larmour) and Pitlochry Festival Theatre, UK, opened summer of 2022 in Pitlochry to great reviews and enthusiastic audiences and moved to Watford in October.
