Mark B. Smith teaches history at Cambridge, where he is a University Lecturer and a Fellow of King’s College. He specialises in the history of the Soviet Union and is the author of several academic articles and a book on the subject. He writes a blog on Russia’s past and present at beyondthekremlin.com.
His first book for general readers is The Russia Anxiety, published by Allen Lane / Penguin in 2019. Mark is now working on a new project, about the slow collapse of the Soviet Union, again for Allen Lane, and for W. W. Norton in the US.
