Elizabeth Alker is currently a presenter for BBC Radio 3, where the programmes she works on include Unclassified and Classical Live. She joined the BBC as a researcher for Radio 4 in 2005 and soon after became a reporter and presenter for BBC Radio 6 Music.
After graduating from university she worked as a talent scout for Universal Classics and Jazz, and as a writer for Dazed and Confused. She has now written her first book, about the rich and broad debt that pop and rock owe to the modern classical canon. Everything We Do is Music is published by Faber & Faber, and was the winner of the ‘Storytelling’ category in the 2026 Royal Philharmonic Society Awards.
