Sir Ivor Crewe is an author and academic. He was appointed a Lecturer in Politics at Lancaster University at the age of twenty-one, before returning to Oxford for two years as a Junior Research Fellow, and moving to a Lectureship at the Department of Government at the University of Essex, where he worked for many years.
He has served as Editor of the British Journal of Political Science, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Essex and Master of University College, Oxford. He was appointed Knight Bachelor in the New Year Honours List in 2006.
Sir Ivor is the author and co-author of a number of books, most recently The Blunders of Our Governments, written with the late Anthony King (qv). Originally published in 2013, Sir Ivor is currently working on a revised and updated edition of the book, to include Brexit and the government’s handling of the Coronavirus pandemic.
