Simar Preet Kaur

Simar Preet Kaur is a writer based in the Indian Himalaya. Her first book – Sky Road, a work of nonfiction forthcoming on Penguin Press/Particular Books – received a PEN America/Jean Stein Grant for Literary Oral History, besides a Literature Fellowship at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Germany, a Charles Wallace Fellowship at University of Stirling, Scotland and a residency at Sangam House, India. Simar was the editor of JetWings magazine before moving to the mountains for this project. Her articles and stories have appeared in various publications including Commonwealth Writers’ adda, National Geographic Traveler, Papercuts and Stand Magazine.
