Jane Copland is a writer from Aotearoa New Zealand. Her work has been published in the Independent, Witness Magazine, Hayden’s Ferry Review and a number of other journals, as well as receiving Best of the Net and Pushcart Prize nominations. A former national record holder in the 200 metres breaststroke, her work often includes themes of competition, gender expectations and the dynamics of social class. Now a resident of Oxford, she is a graduate of Washington State University, a marathon runner, and a devoted fan of English rugby and everything London. She is working on her first novel.
