We are excited to see that the brand-new series of Ed Reardon’s Week has started broadcasting on BBC Radio 4. The 16th instalment in the long-running radio series will air weekly on Monday’s, with the first episode going live on the 30th June.
The programme is a sitcom which follows the life of Ed Reardon, author, pipe smoker, consummate fare-dodger and master of the abusive email, trying to survive in a world where the media seems to be run by idiots and charlatans.
The first episode focuses on Ed’s quest to find a new source of income as he applies for an ostler’s job at The Countrywoman magazine and clears his storage cupboard to illegally sub-let it as an ‘opportunity for boutique capsule living’. Christopher Douglas stars as Ed Reardon (as well as writing and creating the series), alongside Simon Greenall as Christos/Uncle Beastly, Barunka O’Shaughnessy as Ping, Nicola Sanderson as Sheila/Francesa, Dan Tetsell as Ross and Joe Thomas as Simon.
Christopher Douglas was recently interviewed for The Times in conjunction with the airing of the new series, which you can read here.
