Mick Herron wins Raymond Chandler Award 2025

We are delighted to share that Mick Herron, author of the brilliant Slough House and Zoë Boehm series, has been awarded the 2025 Raymond Chandler Award, Italy’s top lifetime achievement honour to a master of the thriller and noir literary genre. He is the successor to Joyce Carol Oates, who received the award last year.

Mick will receive his award in December of this year at the Casa del Manzoni, where Noir in Festival is holding its leading events. It will be the 35th Noir in Festival, and Mick will be in conversation with author and film noir expert Adrian Wooton at the event. He will also be meeting students and teachers at Noir’s historical partner instituted, the IULM University.

Mick wrote: “The style that Chandler pioneered spread rapidly to make itself felt well beyond the confines of the detective novel, reaching all corners of the thriller-writing world, including those where spies gather. […] My own novels show, I hope, a little of Chandler’s love for language.”

Congratulations, Mick! We are very proud to represent Mick and his plethora of evermore brilliant achievements.
