Joanna Petrone‘s short stories and essays have appeared in The Los Angeles Review, The Bellingham Review, Romper, Slate, Vice, Avidly, Longreads, and The Awl, among other publications. She earned a B.A. in English from Stanford University and an M.A. in English Education from the University of California, Berkeley. Joanna lives in the Bay Area with her husband, son, daughter, cat, and dog, and teaches freshman English in a large public high school. She returns to her hometown of New York City as often as she can.
