Deborah Tomkins is a novelist and short story writer. Rooted in nature, her writing explores climate change and humankind’s complex relationships with the natural world. She is the author of Aerth (Weatherglass Books, 2025), and The Wilder Path (Aurora Metro Books, 2025). Aerth was joint winner of the Weatherglass Novella Prize in 2024, judged by Ali Smith, and The Wilder Path won the Virginia Prize for Fiction, also in 2024. Several of Deborah’s shorter fictions have been published in print and online.
In 2017, Deborah founded Bristol Climate Writers, a network of writers working in all genres, from fiction to non-fiction, poetry, memoir, and more.
