Deborah Tomkins shortlisted for the Encore Award for Best Second Novel

We’re thrilled to announce that Deborah Tomkins has been shortlisted for the Society of Author’s Encore Award for Best Second Novel for The Wilder Path published by Aurora Metro Books.

 

Four titles were titles selected by judges Malika Booker, Rachel Aroesti and Anita Sethi. The shortlisted titles are Love Forms by Claire Adam (Faber), Mr Outside by Caleb Klaces (Prototype), Sycorax by Nydia Hetherington (Quercus) and The Wilder Path by Deborah Tomkins (Aurora Metro Books). The winner will be announced on 13th May and receives £15,000, with the three other shortlisted authors each receiving £1,000. The Wilder Path is described as “an immensely atmospheric novel” that tells “a potent story of grief for both the loss of human life and the destruction of the natural world”.  The Encore Award was first presented in 1990 and is administered by the Society of Authors.
