Hannah Prudden is a children’s book writer and commissioning editor with over a decade of in-house publishing experience. Throughout her career, she has worked with a range of talented authors and illustrators, developing a strong understanding of what makes a children’s book shine. Her editorial background continues to shape her writing, with a focus on character, connection and leaving space for visual storytelling to bloom. Hannah is now seeking a home for her own writing as a debut author of picture books and children’s gift titles.

Hannah spent her earliest years in a mountain village in Provence, France, then her teenage years in Dorset, before settling by the sea in Brighton, where she now lives with her husband and one-year-old son, Theodore. Her everyday family life is a constant source of inspiration in her writing. Her stories explore the rich inner lives of children – with a soft spot for the bittersweet and the magic tucked into ordinary moments. Whether it’s a shy collector learning to share his heart, or a child discovering beauty in her everyday view, she aims to craft stories that comfort, delight, and linger long after the last page.
