Malachi McIntosh

Malachi McIntosh is a writer and academic born in Birmingham and raised in the US. He is Associate Professor and the Barbara Pym Tutorial Fellow in World Literatures in English at University of Oxford. He was a lecturer at the University of Cambridge for four years before leaving to work at the think tank, the Runnymede Trust, and then as the editor of the magazine Wasafiri.
He is the author of Parables, Fables, Nightmares (Emma Press, 2023) which won the Edge Hill Shory Story Debut Prize in 2024. He’s at work on his first full-length work of non-fiction, A Revolutionary Consciousness, a ground-breaking cultural history of the post-Windrush Caribbean literary boom led by writers such as V. S. Naipaul, Sam Selvon, and Derek Walcott. It’s set to be published by Faber and Faber in 2028.
