Morven is a novelist and short story writer. Her story The Big the Beautiful Nanda Gray was published in Work: the Scotsman/Orange Short Story Collection 2006. Her stories have previously appeared in Shorts 4: the Macallan/Scotland on Sunday Short Story Collection (`You See Patterns When you Close Your Eyes’ 2001), and have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 (`Loulou and Barbie and the Seven Deadly Sins’, 2005; Dilemmas of Modern Martyrs (a collection of five short stories), 2008; ‘A Good Impresson’, 2010; ‘Harold Lloyd is Not the Man of My Dreams’, 2011). She is a regular contributor to the Guardian.
She was a finalist in the 1998 Vogue Talent Contest for young writers and in 2004 she was awarded a New Writers Bursary from the Scottish Arts Council.
She has an MA(Hons) in American Studies from the University of Edinburgh and now lives in Edinburgh with her daughter.
