Mireille Juchau
Mireille Juchau is an award-winning Australian novelist. The World Without Us, her third novel, was published by Bloomsbury in Australia, UK and the US. In 2016 it won the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award and it is currently longlisted for the International Dublin Literary Award 2017. It was shortlisted for the Stella Prize 2016, the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards 2016, the Voss Literary Award, and longlisted for the Miles Franklin Literary Award 2016.
Mireille’s second novel, Burning In, was shortlisted for four awards including the Prime Minister’s Literary Award 2008 and published in Europe. She won the Perishable Theatre International Women’s Playwright Award for her short play, “White Gifts”, which was performed and published in the US. Described by The Guardian UK as “a writer of great poetic power”, Mireille is also known for her short fiction, criticism, essays and reviews. She has lived in Fiji, England, New Zealand and Sydney and worked as a journalist, editor and lecturer.
