Vanessa Tait studied English at Manchester University, and completed a diploma in Journalism at City University as well as a Masters in Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths. She has written for a variety of publications including the Guardian, the Daily Mail and The Lady.
Vanessa’s first novel, The Looking Glass House, tells the story of the author’s great-grandmother, Alice Liddell, and Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) through the eyes of the Liddell children’s nanny. Her second novel, The Pharmacist’s Wife, is a fictionalised account of the invention of heroin set in Edinburgh.
