Jon Wilson is a historian of South Asia and the world beyond, who is currently Professor of Humanities and Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He completed degrees in history and anthropology from the University of Oxford and the New School for Social Research, then taught at King’s College London for twenty-five years. He is the author of two books on the history of South Asia, The Domination of Strangers and India Conquered (Simon & Schuster).

His new book is on the rise and fall of the nation-state. Out of Chaos will be published by OUP in the UK and Basic Books in the US.
