I started my career at Curtis Brown as an assistant, and since then I’ve worked in the children’s editorial teams at Simon & Schuster and Usborne Publishing. I joined David Higham Associates in January 2023 to assist Caroline Walsh and Veronique Baxter on the children’s side. Prior to working in publishing, I attended Trinity College Dublin for my BA in English Studies and MPhil in Children’s Literature, and previously worked as a bookseller on Grafton Street in Dublin.
I’m actively building a boutique list of authors and illustrators for children, and I’m open to seeing anything for ages 0-18. Please not I’m not currently representing authors for adult works.
I’m drawn to contemporary stories of any kind, that captures some aspect of the (painful) experience of growing up. For young adult readers, I would love to find an irresistible rom-com with a good blend of rom and com, and some thrillers or horrors that put a fresh spin on thing. I’m particularly interested in works that bring some elements of modern life like social media or technology into the plot.
I’m always on the lookout for family stories or “quiet” fiction, but I also do love laugh-out-loud stories for younger readers, so I’m keeping my eye out for anything high-concept and a little on the wacky side.
For picture books, my taste is quite broad, ranging from nonsensical to extremely heartfelt, but I am most often drawn to something with strong storytelling flair and a strong message at its core.
