I assist Molly Ker Hawn and am actively building my own list, representing mostly authors of adult literary fiction and sci-fi/fantasy/horror. Please note that I’m open to referrals from clients and other publishing contacts even when I’m closed to queries.
Before working in publishing I was a bookseller and cataloguer of second-hand and antiquarian books, and did a master’s degree in Queer History. I joined the Bent Agency UK in 2019, spent six years there as an assistant and then associate agent, and started at DHA at the end of 2025.
Across all genres I’m drawn to authorial confidence, singular narrative voices, beautiful sentences, knotty interpersonal relationships, and transportive writing that immerses me in a fully-formed world (whether that’s fantastical, geographical, or emotional). I like a novel that surprises me, makes me think, and makes me feel big feelings.
More specifically I’m looking for:
Stylish, voice-driven, witty, honest literary fiction with characters who feel like real people — like Greta & Valdin, The Idiot, Henry Henry, Intermezzo, Rainbow Black, America is Not the Heart, any Laurie Colwin
Literary/upmarket fiction inflected (lightly or heavily) with any subset of SFF/horror — like Piranesi, Private Rites, Feast While You Can, LOTE, Paul Takes the Form of a Mortal Girl
SFF/horror with elevated prose and nuanced character work (but genre-typical plot, stakes, and sense of fun) — like Gideon the Ninth, The Stars Undying, She Who Became the Sun, The Unspoken Name, Spear, Heaven’s Graveyard, The Goblin Emperor, A Memory Called Empire
Historical fiction (postmodern/genre twists encouraged) by authors who are totally immersed in the tone, language, and culture of their period — like Confessions of the Fox, Nonesuch, The New Life, The Queen of the Night, Stag Dance, Matrix, any Hilary Mantel
