Professor Barbara Keys is a specialist in US and international history, currently based at Durham University. She began her teaching career in 2003 after receiving her Ph.D. in History from Harvard, and has been a visiting scholar at the Center for the Study of Law and Society at UC Berkeley, the Center for European Studies at Harvard, the Center for the History of Emotions at the Max-Planck-Institut für Bildungsforschung in Berlin, and the Leibniz-Institut für Europäische Geschichte in Mainz.

Her new book project is about the legacy of Henry Kissinger, to be published by Simon & Schuster in the US and Oneworld in the UK.
