Charlotte Hanson was born and grew herself in Kent. After a short career as a stylist at Toni&Guy, she began a late educational journey, resulting in a Ph.D. at the University of Kent. She has published short stories, poems, and articles, and has edited a new writing collection. Interested in class, trauma, and feminism, writers she admires include Candice Carty-Williams, Evie Wyld, Tabitha Lasley, Jess Andrews, Kerry Hudson, and Cash Carraway to name a few. She has taught Creative Writing to undergraduates and currently teaches community fiction writing. Her debut novel Chicken is about a family breakdown, and how friends can lift us up again.
