Darren is an award-winning author of books for young people. His debut novel, Wranglestone, was shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards (2020) YA Book Prize and Branford Boase and won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize for Older Readers (2021). It was also named one of the Times Best Books of the Year (2020.) It’s sequel, Timberdark, published September 2022.
Darren is currently writing his third (and first standalone) novel, and works for the NHS as a mental health support worker for CAMHS – Children and Adolescent’s Mental Health Service.
Darren lives in East Sussex and Kent with his partner Joe.
