Kady MacDonald Denton is one of Canada’s foremost illustrators and winner of the esteemed Governor General’s Literary Award for Illustration.

Kady graduated from the University of Toronto (Hons. Fine Arts) and studied at the University of Toronto’s School of Architecture. For a time she worked as a city planner, then a stage and costume designer in Toronto. A sabbatical in London, where she studied at the Chelsea School of Art, was instrumental in changing the focus of her art to writing and illustrating picture books.

Kady has created many books for children, including the prize-winning A Child’s Treasury Of Nursery Rhymes.

She has recently illustrated the hugely popular Bear and Mouse books for Candlewick, including the New York Times Bestseller, A Visitor for Bear.

Kady lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband.
