Kristien Potgieter
Kristien Potgieter is an author and editor from Johannesburg, South Africa. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University and an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, where she was a UEA Booker Scholar. She is the author of several children’s books published in South Africa, and in 2025 she won the Island Prize for a Debut African Novel for her forthcoming adult debut IN THE VALLEY OF THE BONES. She has worked in educational and academic publishing as an editor for over a decade.
