Laura, a former journalist and feminist campaigner, graduated in 2019 with a distinction from UEA Crime Fiction MA. She was longlisted for the 2021 Caledonia Novel Award and shortlisted for the CWA’s 2022 Debut Dagger. Laura also holds an MA in Women, Gender and Writing from Roehampton University and a BA in English Literature from the University of Dundee. For many years, she’s been researching the work of her grandfather, Rt Hon. Justice Melford Stevenson. As a barrister he defended Ruth Ellis, the last woman hanged in England, and as a judge he sentenced the Kray twins.
