Liz Pichon studied graphic design at Camberwell School of Art in London. She then joined the music industry as an Art Director for Jive Records.
Liz went freelance to develop her own illustration and design work, which has since been used on a wide variety of products. Her distinctive style can be seen on anything from beach towels and fabric to calendars, mugs and greeting cards.
Liz’s first illustrated book won a National Parent award in the USA and encouraged her to write her own stories. She subsequently won a Smarties Silver award for My Big Brother Boris.
Liz is now writing fiction for children aged 8+ and her Tom Gates series has been a huge UK and international success with rights sold in over 40 languages. The Brilliant World of Tom Gates won the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Tom Gates Genius Ideas (Mostly) won the Blue Peter Book Award.
Liz lives with her husband and three children in Brighton.
