Marianne van Pelt
Marianne van Pelt is American-Irish. She grew up in Connecticut, where her father taught consciousness studies at Yale Divinity School. Twenty years ago, she followed her heart to West Cork, Ireland, where she now lives on a windswept hill overlooking the Atlantic.
A graduate of the Faber Academy and Curtis Brown Writing a Novel Courses, Marianne holds a BA in Creative Writing and an MA in Public Relations. Marianne has worked as a horse trainer, teacher, PR consultant, and lifestyle and business journalist. Her articles have appeared in The Financial Times, The Times, Forbes, and others.
In 2025, Marianne won the Cheshire Novel Prize for her debut dark academia novel set in Ireland, My Dark Bowered Queen.
