Myfanwy Millward was brought up in Mid Wales and began writing for children when she was a teenager looking for ways to entertain her younger cousins. After studying Film and Journalism she spent seven years working as an English teacher in Italy and Spain. She worked in post-production for film in Barcelona before moving back to the UK to write scripts for documentary, with a Second World War archive series broadcast on the Australian History Channel in 2010. Myfanwy has travelled around Europe for a series on capital cities and has worked with children and young people in Africa teaching them how to make films.

In 2011 she wrote the Christmas monologue Nobody Panic I’m a Christmas Present for the Show of Strength Theatre Company in Bristol and two stories for the Harbourside Jubilee Trail in 2012.  Her first picture book, Rosie’s Special Present, illustrated by her sister Gwen, is published by Jonathan Cape.

Myfanwy currently works as a freelance writer and continues with her love of writing and telling children’s stories.
