Natalie Lawrence
Lawrence is a writer, researcher and teacher focusing on monsters, animals and nature. Her undergraduate and masters studies were in natural sciences and zoology and her PhD was on exotic monsters in the seventeenth century, all at the University of Cambridge.
She gives talks about monsters and natural oddities for a wide range of audiences including being a TEDX speaker. She has been known as a unicorn consultant for the Guardian Magazine and on BBC Woman’s Hour. Natalie has explored ideas about the monstrous in articles for Aeon Magazine, BBC Wildlife Magazine, The Conversation, Berfrois and Public Domain Review, amongst others.
She co-wrote Planta Sapiens with Paco Calvo, and her next book, Enchanted Creatures, is forthcoming from Weidenfeld and Nicolson.
