Oliver Harris was born in London in 1978. He has an MA in Shakespeare studies from UCL, and a PhD in psychoanalysis from Birkbeck. He is the author of the Nick Belsey series of crime novels, as well one work of non-fiction: Lacan’s Return to Antiquity. His new series features the private intelligence officer, Elliot Kane. Called ‘one of the best new spy series’ by Daily Telegraph, the first book, A Shadow Intelligence, was published in May 2019 and the sequel, Ascension, was published by July 2021 by Little, Brown.
Oliver’s latest novel, The Shame Archive, was published by Little, Brown in June 2024 and his upcoming novel, Winter Mirror, will be published in 2026.
He writes occasionally for the Times Literary Supplement.
