Pat Thomson
Pat has been bringing young people and books together for many years, as an English teacher, lecturer in Children’s Literature and in her work with children’s reading groups. She is Honorary Vice-President of the Federation of Children’s Book Groups and was formerly Professional Studies Librarian at Nene College, Northampton.
She now writes full time and is known for her outstanding early reading books, in particular the Share a Story series, and her contributions to the Jets and Oxford Literary Web series. She has published two books, Don’t Call Us and Under Cover of Darkness, with Barrington Stoke, the specialist publisher for children with reading difficulties.
She also writes picture books, including ones illustrated by Emma Chichester Clark and Jan Ormerod.
