Riaz Phillips is a writer, videomaker and photographer born and raised in London. He is passionate about the Afro-Caribbean food he grew up with and sought to redress the void of media surrounding this cuisine with his first book Belly Full: Caribbean Food in the UK. His essay “Flour and Water into Bricks and Mortar” was published in Mother Country: Real Stories of the Windrush Children edited by Charlie Brinkhurt-Cuff (Headline) in 2018. He is the author of three cookbooks, Belly Full, published by Tezeta Press in 2017, West Winds, and East Winds, both published by DK in 2022 and 2023 respectively. He is at work on his next book.
