Rob McCarthy attended medical school in London, during which time he wrote The Hollow Men and A Handful of Ashes, featuring Met Police force medical examiner Dr Harry Kent. After his foundation jobs, he moved to Scotland with his partner where he works as a junior hospital doctor, as well as writing crime fiction… when he can.
Rob McCarthy’s stunning debut, The Hollow Men, is a complex and pacy novel vividly set in contemporary London and a busy hospital. The second book in the D.I. Kent series, A Handful of Ashes, was published in 2017. Both titles published by Mulholland Books.
Rob is currently working on a new standalone thriller set in New Zealand.
