Steve Benbow is one of the UK’s premier beekeepers. He keeps bees all over the country including London where he has hives on the rooftop of Fortnum and Mason, The National Portrait Gallery, The Tate Modern and The Tate Britain. There is a real need for more bees to be kept in cities, where they can better thrive, and it is said that saving the bee population is one of our most urgent ecological challenges.
Steve’s book The Urban Beekeeper was published by Square Peg in July 2012. In his spare time Steve teaches beekeeping and he hopes his book will further inspire readers to try beekeeping, or to support their local (urban) beekeeper.
