Kangaroo has been to Paris but is now on walkabout in the outback with his tent, a tin mug and a few old books. His snow-globe of the Eiffel Tower reminds him of the fun of the Moulin Rouge. Instead of moping around he opens a cafe and sets up auditions for cancan dancers.

Lots of animals turn up, but anyone familiar with the fauna of Australia will know that there is only one creature that would make a good cancan dancer. Platypuses, crocodiles, wombats and koalas are no good, and Kangaroo tells them so. Emus are perfect, but too shy, so Kangaroo flatters them and soon his cancan cafe is a success.
