Jonathan began his screenwriting career on the continuing drama series River City, for which he was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA in the Writer Film/Television category in October 2016.
In 2021, he won a Writers’ Guild of America Award for his work on Netflix/Left Bank Pictures’ The Crown.
He continues to develop his own film and television projects.
Jonathan Wilson was most recently in the room on S3 of Amazon’s THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER. He was previously Head Writer on Netflix’s Emmy award-winning series THE CROWN and was nominated for a WGA Award for the much talked about final season, writing 3 out of the final 6 episodes: S6E5 “Willsmania,” S6E7 “Alma Mater” and S6E9 “Hope Street.”
These final episodes have received continued critical praise, award wins (nominations), and an impassioned viewership. During the show’s fourth season, Jonathan won a WGA Award for his episode S4E5, “Fagan.” Jonathan began his screenwriting career on the continuing drama series RIVER CITY, for which he was nominated for a Scottish BAFTA in the Writer Film/Television category in 2016. In between seasons of The Crown, he was in the Starz mini-room for the prequel series, OUTLANDER: BLOOD OF MY BLOOD.
