Ru Briant

Film, TV and Stage Agent:
Clare Israel

Ru is a Midlands based writer with a vast array of experiences that give her a unique perspective. Amongst other things, she’s been a teacher, a military officer who’s seen active service in Afghanistan, and an NHS A&E doctor.

Her script A GOOD END – a returning medical thriller following the legalisation of assisted dying – is currently under option to a leading production company.

Ru was a finalist in the BBC Casualty NHS Heroes Writing Competition, through which she attended storylining days; she was shortlisted for the Studio 21 Drama Series Competition 2023 and 2024, and was been selected for the 2024 WFTV Kay Mellor Screenwriters’ Lab with her script chosen as one of only 3 to receive a professional table read in 2025.

Ru tends towards pacy, elevated, character-rich TV drama that draws on her extensive life experience, with a particular interest in themes that challenge and explore the grey areas found in morality, justice and the value we place in society – and the value it places on us.
