The Blue Hour by Paula Hawkins has been named the winner of the Good Housekeeping Good Books Summer Collection of endorsed fiction. The Summer Collection will be featured by Waterstones online and in selected shops, as the lead retailer on the GH Good Books initiative.
Good Housekeeping’s Books director Joanne Finney said that the book had received a “near perfect score” from their panel, “and was rated particularly highly for keeping readers glued to the page throughout. I think the mix of gripping plot, atmospheric setting and beautiful writing makes it a novel most readers would love.” The panel also praised the narrative device of the diary entries, and the book’s “eerie, vividly described setting.”
On receiving the award, Paula said: “I’m absolutely delighted that The Blue Hour has been chosen as the winner of the Good Books Summer Collection. It’s always gratifying to be chosen for an award by readers.”
Described by the Observer as Paula’s “best novel yet”, we are delighted to see this fantastic literary thriller get such wonderful recognition. Congratulations, Paula!
