The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die recently dropped on Netflix and has proved to be a worthy sequel to the five-season series that first hit screens in 2015. The film immediately hit the #1 spot on Netflix’s global list of their most watched films, while also topping the list in 92 countries including the UK.
Directed by Ed Bazalgette (The Witcher, Versailles) and written by Martha Hillier (Vera), The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die is adapted from DHA author Bernard Cornwell’s series of Saxon tales. The film follows Uhtred, played by Alexander Dreymon, as he tries to bring peace to England in the wake of the death of King Edward. Yet rival heirs and the schemes of Danish king Anlaf threaten to destabilise the land and destroy the dream of a united England.
The film and all episodes of the television series are currently available on Netflix. Trailer link: Seven Kings Must Die | Official Trailer | Netflix – YouTube
