Grant Gordon is a musician, radio programme maker and writer. He played drums and bass in The Divine Comedy, and has played in and produced numerous bands over the years including his own, I, Thalamus.
He was the presenter/writer/producer of BBC Radio 4’s Between Your Very Ears (2008), and Channel 4 Radio’s spoken word and music programme, The Riverhouse (2006). He also wrote, produced and directed BBC Radio 2’s celebration of David Bowie, Berlin:Soundz Decadent (2007). He has written and produced audio-visual material for BBC News in India and Vietnam, and has written about India for various travel magazines.
He was a theatre and comedy reviewer for The List magazine in Edinburgh and is a published pantomime writer and composer. He has also written and directed several plays at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival including the Guardian Award-nominated Smoke.
In the 1990s, Grant worked in the Channel 4 Press Office, publicising programmes like Dispatches, TFI Friday and Brass Eye, and working as Michael Grade’s corporate spy.
He has lectured on Reality TV at the ICA and the Zero One Foundation in London, and ran two London commercial recording studios from 2007 to 2009.
Grant’s first book Cobras in the Rough, about playing golf in India, was published by Constable & Robinson in March 2012.
