Between 1928 and 1956 Molly Keane published eleven novels under the pseudonym M. J. Farrell. The best known of them were Devoted Ladies, Full House and Rising Tide, all published by Collins. Good Behaviour marked a classic comeback in 1981 placing Molly Keane in the tradition of Jean Rhys, and was praised in Ireland’s Sunday Independent as ‘worthy of a latter-day Jane Austen’. She died in 1996.
